‘About KUBOTA BIRENDO

                                 Our shop in 1940

Kubota Birendo, a Japanese bamboo blind shop, was founded by Seijiro Kubota in 1883.
Kubota is the founder's family name and Birendo means " Beautiful blinds shop" in Japanese. Since 1883, we have manufactured and sold bamboo blinds and other bamboo crafts.              We provide a variety of goods such as blinds for shrines & temples, indoor & outdoor blinds for home use, folding screens and bamboo crafts. Materials include reed from Lake Biwa and bamboo from Kyoto. We make blinds that bring out the quality of the natural material itself.
We make each product by hand so that you can enjoy them for many years to come.
In fact, the color and texture of the bamboo grow richer over time.
Design, material and size of products can be custom ordered.
